San Francisco – After three years with no salmon fishing, other than six days on the recreational side last year, the Golden State Salmon Association (GSSA) will host its Annual Santa Rosa Dinner at the Friedman Event Center, 4676 Mayette Ave. in Santa Rosa on June 5. Doors open at 6:00 pm. This highly anticipated annual party is a great night featuring hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, dinner, and silent and open auctions. Everyone will have chances to win quality raffle and door prizes, such as Seeker rods, guided fishing trips, and much more!

This dinner is the opportunity to support and raise funds for GSSA while comparing fish stories with folks we share the water with. Sport and commercial salmon fishermen are likely to plot where the salmon will be when they next get a shot at catching California king salmon.  For many, opening day will be soon.

“These are challenging times for fishermen, salmon, and water in California,” noted dinner chairman and GSSA chairman Mike Aughney. “That’s what makes this dinner an important fundraiser for GSSA. It’s an opportunity for us to get together to celebrate while also raising money and getting the word out about GSSA’s salmon rebuilding work. Last year, many of us got a taste of salmon fishing again, and hopes are high for 2026 as well.”

“These banquets are always over-the-top, not only for our fundraising and attendance, but also for the food, sheer fun, and prizes,” said GSSA executive director Vance Staplin“Get your tickets now so we can guarantee you a space.”
