Take A California Fish And Game Commission Falconry Field Trip

California Fish and Game Commission February 2023 Field Trip Details
Who: Commissioners, staff, California Department of Fish and Wildlife staff, and members of the public
What: Falconry presentations and demonstration
When: Thursday, February 9, 2023, approximately 3:00 p.m.
Where: Conaway Ranch, 45332 County Road 25, Woodland, CA 95776
The Commission invites members of the public to join commissioners, staff, and California Department of Fish and Wildlife (Department) staff for a field trip Thursday afternoon. Members of the public are welcome to attend but must provide their own transportation.
A portion of this field trip takes place outdoors. Please wear closed-toed shoes and be prepared to walk over uneven terrain. Additionally, please bring appropriately warm clothing, sun protection, and drinking water for the conditions.
Meeting Location
Meet at Conaway Ranch, approximately 30-minute drive from downtown Sacramento.
Field Trip Overview
This field will be hosted by Conaway Ranch and the California Hawking Club. Please arrive between 2:30 and 3:00 pm for bird viewing on the lawn and refreshments.
Following a brief overview and history of falconry at the lodge, the field trip will move outside to another location for a falconry demonstration including:
- Lure flying
- Drone training
