Mountain Lion Attack In Half Moon Bay Injures Boy

Mountain lion attacks have become all too common in California in recent years. Another incident took place in Half Moon Bay in the Bay Area’s San Mateo County. Here’s more from the San Francisco Chronicle:

The attack occurred around 6:50 p.m. on the 1000 block of Tunitas Creek Road, an unincorporated section in San Mateo County. The area is a remote location east of of Highway 1 and south of Half Moon Bay.

“Our coastal community had endured so much these past few weeks. Our entire agency is saddened of this news and sends many warm wishes to the child for a speedy and full recovery,” San Mateo County Sheriff Christina Corpus said. “Our thoughts are with the family at this time.”

A spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office said that the boy was going to be “okay” and was suffering from puncture wounds on his body.
