The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office said the body of Donald Nylund, 66 of Montague, was located Monday at 11:22 a.m.. Investigators said preliminary information indicates Nylund was involved in a mishap with the all-terrain vehicle (ATV) he was operating.
Nylund was last seen Friday morning when he left home to hunt in the areas of Willow Creek, Bogus Creek, Masterson and Scarface Road. He was reported missing Saturday afternoon.
Investigators said Nylund’s pickup was located at the end of Desavado Road Sunday night. He had been using a quad-type ATV and did not have a cell phone at the time of his disappearance.
Late Monday morning, Nylund’s body was found on a hill in the vicinity of Desavado Road and Cod Drive in the North County Klamath River County Estates area of Montague.
Condolences to Nylund’s loved ones.
