The largest yellowtail in several years, and one of the largest ever caught was brought in by Captain Mike Lackey’s Vagabond out of Point Loma Sportfishing in San Diego last month. The monster yellow weighed 81.4 pounds, and was landed by second skipper Gordon Lackey, who was using a Penn 114H2 reel with 80 pound line, and a live mackerel fished on the bottom near Alijos Rocks. Fortunate angler Lackey  and fellow Vagabond crewman Scott Donald hefted the beast for the camera.
