Here’s more from Los Angeles TV’s KTLA:
The month-log closures, which may be extended, are an attempt to avoid gatherings of groups and to promote social distancing, the Pacific Southwest Region of the Forest Service said in a press release Wednesday.
The developed recreation sites refer to designated recreational areas intended to facilitate public use.
While the designated recreation sites will be closed, the general forest area, including the trails, will remain open and available to the public, officials said.
Closures of USDA Forest Service Pacific Southwest Region developed recreation facilities are being put in place until at least April 30th in an attempt to avoid groups of people and promote social distancing of staying more than six feet apart.
