By the Northern Mono Chamber of Commerce:

The West Walker River is open to fishing now and will continue to be that way through the trout season opener in April.
Regulations are catch-and-release and barbless hooks for flies and lures until the April 25, 2015 opening, and then again at the end of regular fishing on Nov. 15, 2015. Brochures can be picked up at local stores and businesses in Walker and Coleville to explain how to place fish back in water correctly and safely.
The Northern Mono Chamber of Commerce will be stocking fish for the March 1 opening and throughout the fishing season. Bounties and prizes will be awarded to tagged fish. Please bring tag to Walker Country Store or Walker General Store for redemption.
“This is great news for our area and for anglers to come and fish some of the best waters of the year in the West Walker River,” says Pam Hamic, chamber president.
Please visit northernmonochamber.com/ for more information and fish-stocking dates.
