Bond Arms Introduces Four New California Guns

GRANBURY, TX, April 7, 2015—Bond Arms continues to expand its California-approved handgun line with the addition of four new models. Bond Arms launched in the state in late 2014 with the Big Bear CA and the Brown Bear CA. The company is now shipping the new CA Mama Bear, California Defender, CA Backup, and CA Papa Bear.

“We had an overwhelmingly positive response when we launched our first two California-approved handguns. With our newest additions, consumers in the state will have even more styles to choose from,” said Bond Armspresident Gordon Bond. “For those who aren’t familiar with our guns, I encourage them to go to a nearby dealer and hold one. Bond Arms makes the smallest, most powerful, best-built, personal protection on the market. It’s why we can confidently say they are ‘The Finest in Double Barrel Protection.’”

Additional specs on the new guns are as follows:

CA Papa Bear: .45 Colt; Extended rubber grips with the California Bear; MSRP: $452

CA Mama Bear: 9mm; Pink-stained rosewood grips with CA Mama Bear logo; MSRP: $445

California Defender: 9mm; Panel rosewood grips with the California Bear; MSRP: $445

CA Backup: 9mm; Rubber grips; MSRP: $445

All four firearms feature a rebounding hammer, retracting firing pins, crossbolt safety, and spring-loaded cammed locking lever for a tighter barrel/frame fit and rapid loading and unloading. The CA Papa Bear also has an automatic extractor. At this time, the new models come with specially-designed, California-approved barrels instead of the company’s signature interchangeable barrels.

About Bond Firearms:
Originally organized under the name Texas Armory, the company became incorporated as Bond Arms in 1995 with the idea that the Remington Model 95 over-under, single-action derringer could be converted from an Old West anachronism into a modern defensive handgun. The barrel and frame were redesigned to safely fire modern calibers. The beefed-up double barrels and frames are constructed completely from stainless steel, and shaped with modern manufacturing processes. This makes for a pistol that’s both strong and durable.
