Auto Jerk Decoys: A Waterfowler’s Edge

Decoys

Here in the San Joaquin Delta, in the heart of the Pacific flyway, we started our voyage over thirty years ago searching for the most effective way to decoy in waterfowl.

Starting with kites, then to flickers, pumpers and swimming decoys. All were effective in their early years of use. Face it, it’s a new era of waterfowl hunting. We compete with more refuges and sanctuaries along with more competitive hunters with better equipment.

The only things that have not changed is how waterfowl sound and look on the water. Even the first hunters saw this and tried to duplicate waterfowl movement with manual jerk strings/cords. This was an effective and proven method to natural movement of several decoys with one motion of the arm. Movement in your spread, and ripple on the water, is crucial to waterfowl success. The two biggest complaints using a jerk string is set up, and pulling a string while calling and holding a gun.

This is why we invented the Auto Jerk Decoy System. Set up and hunt all day with the most effective natural decoy system on the market without having to pull on a string. It puts ripple and non-stop motion in your spread.

With more than thirty years of hunting waterfowl, we have never experienced this type of bird response to our decoy spreads.

This system is portable, light weight, and runs from a 12 volt battery for 10-12 hours.

Simple set up…

  • Place the adjustable motor and pole wherever you would like (by your blind, along a ditch, or in the middle of your pond).
  • Attach the easy clip snaps onto the pivot arm.
  • Run the two lines to your desired location and attach them onto the two separate anchor poles.
  • Attach up to 12 decoys per system.
  • Adjust the motor on pole so the pivot arm is under water.
  • Connect the motor terminals onto the battery.
  • Adjust the anchors poles tighter or looser for more or less movement in your spread.

There are also different strokes on the pivot arm you can change to get different types of action in your decoys. Some hunters like smooth, subtle movement, others want a more aggressive movement.

Whatever movement you decide, you will see it is very simple to adjust this system by simply changing the pivot adjustment or by tightening or loosening the tension on the anchor poles.
