Wildlife Resources Committee Meeting Now Set For Jan. 16 In Sacramento

Meeting Agenda for January


The Wildlife Resources Committee will now meet on January 16, 2024 in Sacramento. The meeting will be held at the California Natural Resources Building, Second Floor, 715 P Street, Sacramento.

Members of the public are welcome to participate in-person in Sacramento, via Zoom webinar, or by phone. Instructions on how to participate will be posted to the Commission website prior to the meeting.

2. White sturgeon sport fishing Discuss and potentially make recommendations on a future regular rulemaking regarding white sturgeon sport fishing.

3. Wildlife rehabilitation Discuss and potentially make recommendations on a potential future rulemaking to make improvements to the regulatory framework for authorizing wildlife rehabilitation, including forms, wildlife care standards, permit revocation and denial standards, and other changes.

  1. Inland sport fishing Discuss and potentially make recommendations for a future inland sport fishing rulemaking.
  2. Plastic pollution from shotgun wads
    Initial discussion of plastic pollution caused by shotgun debris from waterfowl hunting.
  3. Waterfowl hunting in Southampton Bay Initial discussion to explore potential regulation changes to address waterfowl hunting noise concerns specific to Southampton Bay.
  4. Take of nongame mammals Discuss issues and the regulatory framework regarding the indiscriminate take of nongame mammals.
