Summer Fishing Fun In Half Moon Bay

I’ve spent the week in the Bay Area visiting family and friends, including a day fishing at San Pablo Reservoir, which you can check out in the September issue. It’s also been HOT around the region. On Thursday night I went to a thrilling Oakland A’s game against the Houston Astros, and the teams (and fans) endured 82-degree temps at first pitch (a big reason why the teams combined for an Oakland Coliseum-record 10 combined home runs. Daytime thermometers soared well into the low- to mid-90s in normally pleasant San Mateo where I’ve been staying.

Friday brought cooler weather, especially out on the coast in Half Moon Bay. The fishing pier at Pillar Point Marina was a popular place for anglers to wet a line. Here a few images.
