Wildlife Forever Introduces Kit To Help In Invasive Species Prevention

White Bear Lake, MN –  “The aliens have landed…, now what?”  Wildlife Forever, in partnership with the USDA Forest Service, unveil the new Clean Drain Dry Rapid Response Communication Kit to help communities with invasive species. Informing the public is critical in slowing the spread and the ready-made communication tools are designed for immediate distribution or can be customized to local needs.

“The spread of invasive species continues but despite a lake getting infested, it’s still critically important to slow the spread because new species, diseases and viruses are knocking on the door,” said Pat Conzemius, President & CEO of Wildlife Forever.

Prevention is still the best way to slow the spread and this Rapid Response Kit is designed to do this in two ways:

  • Send out an urgent warning that a local lake has been infested with a specific Aquatic Invasive Species.
  • Educate the affected public as to what they can – and should – do to help prevent the further spread of the species.
Crafted in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, the new Clean Drain Dry Rapid Response Communication Kit gives agencies, organizations and communities across the country the tools to quickly communicate about an infestation.  The kit provides a turnkey strategy with all new assets tailored to a “warning” message. The kit has resources such as press releases, PSA’s for traditional, digital and social media platforms – including video content and radio spots.  With this kit you can quickly and easily create awareness of an infestation and an urgent call-to-action to the community surrounding the infestation. Do your part, spread the word, and always Clean Drain Dry.  Download and Preview the Kit here: Rapid Response Communication Kit. Full details coming soon on CleanDrainDry.org.
“In today’s media and technology driven world, a comprehensive communication and prevention strategy needs to inform and educate people using multiple platforms. The kit can help by reminding people to check their equipment but can also provide necessary cleaning tools and prompts, at the boat ramp, so people can learn to do it themselves,” said Conzemius. “Clean Drain Dry is about empowering the practice.”The Wildlife Forever Clean Drain Dry Initiative is the national campaign to educate outdoor recreational users on how to prevent the spread of invasive species. Strategic communications, marketing, outreach and educational services provide access to consistent messaging and tailored AIS prevention planning. Wildlife Forever Makes Impact In Home State For ‘Clean Drain Dry’ Project

White Bear Lake, MN – To celebrate Minnesota’s fishing opener, Governor Tim Walz declares, Clean Drain Dry Day spotlighting invasive species and how all boaters and anglers can help preserve a robust fishing pastime and state economy. Home to 1.4 million anglers, fishing in Minnesota generates over $2.6 billion of economic activity and supports over 26,000 jobs. That’s right, 26,000 jobs.  Invasive species are a direct serious threat now to local economies and recreationists accessing public waters.  Preventing and managing the spread of harmful invasive species is up to everyone.

Wildlife Forever applauds the many partners combating invasive species from soil and watershed conservation districts, lake associations, county, state and federal agencies along with non-governmental organizations united under a common theme of Clean Drain Dry. Here’s one simple directive for all bait anglers; Trash Unused Bait! Nonnative minnows and worms can do serious harm on land and in the water. Working with partners across the state, Wildlife Forever coordinates statewide public outreach and educational efforts to prevent the spread of invasive species.

“Clean Drain Dry Day is a great opportunity for all anglers to get back into the mindset of cleaning all equipment and gear to prevent accidental spread of invasive species. I’m happy to see Governor Walz recognizing the treasure our lakes and rivers are in supporting our local economies and the Minnesota way of life,” said Pat Conzemius, President and CEO of Wildlife Forever.

This year, Albert Lea is host for the 2019 Governor’s Fishing Opener. Local groups plan to send a strong Clean Drain Dry message with highway billboards, sidewalk boards, posters and handouts to the public.  Wildlife Forever would like to remind all boaters, anglers, property owners and businesses to spread the Clean Drain Dry message and protect our local waters from invasive species. Do your part this fishing and boating season: Clean. Drain. Dry. all boats, trailers and gear.

The following press release is courtesy of Mack’s Lures:

Mack’s Lure, Inc., manufacturer of the popular Sling Blade, Double D Dodger and Flash Lite Troll, has added to their extensive line of dodgers and attractors with the ScentFlash UV Triangle Flasher. This one-of-a-kind 8” in-line spinning flasher features a patented scent release system that is sure to be a game changer in the salmon, trout and kokanee fishing markets.

MACK’S LURE’S BOB LOOMIS DETAILS THE NEW SCENTFLASH, WHICH COMBINES A 360-DEGREE INLINE FLASHER WITH THE ABILITY TO LOAD THE DEVICE WITH SCENT PRODUCTS. (MACK’S LURE)

“We’re very excited to release yet another innovative product,” Mack’s Lure President Bob Schmidt said. “The ScentFlash has been extensively field tested and is guide-proven to help attract and catch more fish.”

THE SCENTFLASH COMES IN SIX DIFFERENT COLOR COMBO PATTERS. (MACK’S LURE)

The ScentFlash is easy to use. Simply un-snap the lid on the flasher, apply scent to the premium pad, and snap back into place. The ScentFlash will then release scent through the water as is rotates, attracting fish with incredible flash and a trail of scent.

BY DEPRESSING TWO “DOGEARS,” THE HALVES OF THE FLASHER COME APART. THE PRODUCT COMES WITH A SCENT PAD, WHICH ARE ALSO SOLD SEPARATELY. (MACK’S LURE)

“Not only does this 360-degree attractor come in high UV body colors, as well as high UV tapes to attract fish, but it can also be filled up with scent, which is a must-have for today’s angler,” Sales & Marketing Director Bob Loomis said. “Unlike any other attractor, you can fill the scent pad with scented oils or gels — or load the cavity with scented tuna, herring or anchovy filets. Whatever your preferred scent is, the ScentFlash will hold it, then disperse it while trolling to catch more fish.”

ANOTHER OPTION WITH THE SCENTFLASH IS TO ADD TUNA TO THE SCENT CHAMBER. (MACK’S LURE)

The ScentFlash is available in two high UV body colors — Chartreuse UV and Clear UV — with six high UV color options to fit your needs. Each ScentFlash includes one (1) premium ScentFlash Pad, designed specifically to hold and disperse scent throughout the water. These premium pads can be cleaned and re-used for multiple uses, though they’re also sold separately as a four-pack.

Dabbler Supply Launches New Apparel Products Geared Toward Waterfowl Hunters

The following press release is courtesy of Dabbler Supply:

Elk Grove, California – October 25, 2018

Dabbler Supply, a new hunting apparel brand based in Elk Grove, California, is poised to change the hunting industry with its unique take on duck hunting and waterfowler lifestyle wears for men and women. The brand’s uniqueness and versatility are demonstrated in every piece of apparel, as it fuses waterfowler lifestyle elements with a strong tie back to the the California outdoor sports scene, all with an emphasis on bridging the gap for duck hunters looking to showcase their passion, both in the field as well as out.

The hunting industry is a dynamic one, with several brands coming into the space and creating a niche for themselves in the highly competitive industry. With increasing demands from hunters looking to outfit themselves in gear that is both versatile and quality made, Dabbler Supply is looking to meet the demands of the market.

With its new online direct-to-consumer business that opened in August of this year, Dabbler Supply aims to offer an entirely new model of product-development, and a defined business model that puts customers first.

“Our goal was to create a brand that all duck hunters could be proud to represent,” said Dabbler Supply founder Casey Hartwell.  “While we’re huge fans of camo, it’s tough to represent and showcase the waterfowler lifestyle in an environment that’s not conducive to wearing camo gear all the time, like the office, or out for a night on the town, for example.  We wanted to create apparel that could be worn out at your local dive and still showcase that you’re as passionate about the hunting lifestyle, if not more, than the guy decked out in camo from head to toe.  What better way to do that than by combining design aspects from the outdoor lifestyle industry with design aesthetics and branding that duck hunters lean toward.”

With a decade of experience in the outdoor sports and marketing industry, Hartwell recognized his desire to create a brand specific to meet his needs and lifelong hunting passion. Leveraging his background in the outdoor industry and seeing firsthand the demand for this type of product offering, he was able to take Dabbler Supply from proof of concept to fully operational in less than six months.

“What sets Dabbler Supply apart is its commitment to the consumer,” Hartwell explains. “On the apparel side, it’s all about creating what they’re asking for, while offering unparalleled commitment to quality and dedication to customer service.”

To learn more about Dabbler Supply, expansion plans, or to book an interview, contact Casey Hartwell at 1.415.7305073 or email, casey.hartwell@dabblersupply.com, or visit the website at www.dabblersupply.com

About Dabbler Supply:

First, we should probably mention we’re from California, yes, the state that everyone associates with Hollywood and surfers, not duck hunters and outdoorsmen.  Yes, we have the Pacific Flyway, The Sierra Nevada’s, and Yosemite, however, let’s be honest, California probably isn’t ground zero for hunting gear.

That’s where we come in.

When we launched Dabbler Supply, it was with the intent of creating a brand and product offering that would stand out from the masses.  A brand that wouldn’t necessarily blend in, per se, but a brand that would let us showcase our love of the outdoors, in the actual outdoors, as well as when not, all infused with a heavy dose of California lifestyle.

What you’ll find at Dabbler Supply is versatile gear and quality apparel meant for diehard waterfowlers. Gear you can wear in the field, or out, and that’s guaranteed to get noticed for all of the right reasons.  Gear that makes you a Pacific Flyway Original.

Wildlife Forever Fights Back Against Great Lakes Invasive Species

The following press release is courtesy of Wildlife Forever:

White Bear Lake, MN – Wildlife Forever has taken another innovative step towards fighting the spread of aquatic invasive species in the Great Lakes by donating a solarized watercraft cleaning station to the City of Duluth.

Located within the St. Louis River estuary, the access at Munger Landing was recently outfitted with a CD3 Watercraft Cleaning Station to empower boaters to self-inspect and Clean Drain and Dry boats, trailers and equipment. In partnership with St. Louis County and the Minnesota DNR, the project highlights the importance of collaboration between state, county, city, private companies and conservation groups to bring real solutions in fighting the spread of aquatic invasive species.

Munger Landing is the second access to be retrofitted with new cleaning station technology. In addition to providing physical tools to remove weeds and water, the new station will soon be outfitted with a Wi-Fi educational platform to highlight invasive species issues but also allow boaters to purchase fishing licenses, download lake maps and safe boating information.

“The Great Lakes remain a major pathway for the potential introduction of invasive species,” said Pat Conzemius, Executive Vice President for Wildlife Forever. “I could not be more proud of the partners involved that worked together to enhance this access for AIS identification/prevention but also making a place for people to learn more about the resource,” said Conzemius.

“The access at Munger Landing is a key location to the City of Duluth’s interconnected water trail and access to the St. Louis River, a crown jewel for paddlers, hunters, anglers, and birders. The station is a great complement to our awareness and prevention plans for preventing invasive species,” said Lisa Luokkala, Senior Parks Planner for the City of Duluth.

Wildlife Forever’s Clean Drain Dry Initiative is a national campaign to educate outdoor recreational users on how to prevent the spread of invasive species. Strategic communications, marketing, outreach and educational services inform the public about invasive species prevention and consistent best management practices. Newly designed cleaning stations are waterless, user-operated and includes a wet/dry vacuum, blower, and tethered hand tools for easy use. The CD3 station is not your average cleaning station. The system has internet connected technology to allow natural resource managers to track visitor use, functionality and maintenance needs.
