Man shoots AR-15 from Nose to prove Recoil doesn’t cause Bruising

This custom weapons builder fires an AR15 from his nose in an attempt to disprove a reporter’s claim that recoil causes bruising.

By now you’ve probably heard about Gersh Kuntzman, the reporter that recently wrote a piece for the New York Daily News that has caused quite a stir among gun owners for its reaching absurdities that shooting the weapon for a story gave him PTSD. There’s even been a parody video circulating mocking what the experience of teaching him how to fire the weapon may have been like. Kuntzman explains his shooting range experience with the weapon by saying that:

“The recoil bruised my shoulder. The brass shell casings disoriented me as they flew past my face. The smell of sulfur and destruction made me sick. The explosions — loud like a bomb — gave me a temporary form of PTSD. For at least an hour after firing the gun just a few times, I was anxious and irritable.”

It’s unlikely that a rifle of that caliber and tactical design would leave bruising behind. So Chris Waller of VooDoo Custom Weapons in Salisbury, NC decided to make his own parody video, mocking Kuntzman’s claim that the weapon left bruises behind. The video, posted to his VooDoo Customs Facebook Page, shows Waller placing the butt of the rifle to the bridge of his nose, then firing the weapon a half dozen times for his demonstration.

“Not broken, not bleeding, not bruised. Thank you for your time.”
