Camanche Hills Hunting Preserve: Great Mother Lode Shooting Opportunities

CAMANCHE HILLS HUNTING PRESERVE

Camanche Hills Hunting Preserve has been in operation since 1962. We release thousands of game birds each year. We are situated on 1,500 acres of valley and rolling hills.

Our preserve features upland game birds (pheasants, chukar, valley quail) and waterfowl (flighted mallard ducks and Canadian honker geese), which makes Camanche Hills one of the most diversified hunting preserves in California.

We also have three 10-station sporting clay courses, four 5-stands, grouse bunkers, and a trap-and-skeet range. We have held several large sporting clay events, such as the California State Shoots, 7-Zone Championships (13 Western states), Ducks Unlimited shoots, and we have hosted the Western Regional Sporting Clay championship.

The clubhouse has a restaurant, which is open every day except Tuesday during the hunting season and open Friday to Sunday in the off-hunting season. The hunting preserve operates its season from October 1 of each year to March 15, and sporting clays are open year-round. We often do corporate events – sporting clay or hunting – in the clubhouse.

The clubhouse is beautiful and overlooks the lake. We have seating for 75 inside as well as a 60-by-26-foot shade/rain structure on the back lawn to accommodate large events. There is also a large built-in barbecue structure. We have even had a few evening weddings on the back lawn.
